I wonder what will happen if the Democrats lose this year, because it would certainly reflect poorly on the campaign/party.

No, it won’t. That’s wrong. The Democrats are running a strong, clean campaign and have a terrific candidate. If they lose this year, it reflects poorly on the rest of the country and no one else. I don’t think Obama is perfect. I don’t think he’s a political messiah. But I do think he’s what our country needs right now, and I do think that even if he were half as great as he is, he’d be a hell of a lot better than McCain. The Republicans are playing dirty. This campaign has been full of lies and misinformation, and everyone in the McCain camp is guilty of putting a vicious spin on things, dodging the tough questions if not outright lying about them. If people are stupid enough to vote McCain, the problem is with the people and not the party.
