This is valuable advice, and when I was in high school and even college I tried not to think of where I was as just a training ground for the “real world.” Unfortunately, while this is good advice, it’s not good advice for the reasons that most people still in high school would probably think it’s good advice. High school is real life, but your problems in high school feel way more important than they are, and they mean nothing when it comes to finding a job, paying your rent, et cetera.
